Biography of Mr. James D. Trujillo
James Trujillo was born in the old, West Texas town of El Paso. After graduating from high school, Mr. Trujillo moved to Austin, Texas where he attended the University of Texas at Austin and he successfully obtained a bachelor's degree in Applied Learning and Development with minors in psychology, English Literature and Spanish. After completing his bachelor's degree, Mr. Trujillo attended the University of Missouri--School of Law where he obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree.
During his legal career, Mr. Trujillo has successfully tried and arbitrated over 150 cases to verdict. In addition, Mr. Trujillo has negotiated several cases for millions of dollars, resulting in favorable outcomes for his clients. Several magazines, such as Texas Lawyer have recognized Mr. Trujillo's accomplishments by featuring him as Litigator of the Week after Mr. Trujillo obtained one of the largest verdicts in Smith County, Texas in 2011. In 2017, Texas Lawyer listed Mr. Trujillo's verdict in the top 10 work-injury verdicts in the State of Texas. In 2018, Mr. Trujillo tried 28 cases, winning 14 cases in a row and securing favorable verdicts in 21 of the 28 cases he tried. Mr. Trujillo has successfully tried cases in Collin County, Dallas County, Tarrant County, Denton County, Smith County, Greg County, Lubbock County and El Paso County. Though Mr. Trujillo's notorious reputation in the legal community, judges and other attorneys have invited him to lecture and teach other attorneys how to conduct voir dire examinations, opening arguments, cross-examination and closing arguments. In his spare time, Mr. Trujillo enjoys spending time with his son, hunting, fishing and golfing.
